JUDY GROSSMAN, MA, CASAC,
SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR
Judy Grossman, MA,CASAC has been working as a substance abuse counselor at Port Counseling Center since 2003. MS. Grossman is also our Compulsive Gambling counselor.Ms. Grossman has over 10 years experience with MICA populations as well as in substance abuse counseling. She has a BFA earned at New York Institute of Technology in 1992 and an MA in Creative Arts Therapy earned at Hofstra University in 1997. Ms. Grossman has also obtained a certificate in substance abuse education from Queens College in 2001 and received her CASAC in 2005. Ms. Grossman has worked in a variety of institutions: Brunswick Hospital, Nassau Community Hospital and Elmhurst Hospital working as counselor and supervisor art therapist on inpatient and outpatient units for the past ten years with individuals who have a dual diagnosis. Ms. Grossman has also worked at Human Service Centers as a substance abuse counselor and has conducted treatment assessments and chemical dependency education classes and recovery groups. Ms. Grossman was also involved in the batterers intervention program. She conducted anger management and parenthood groups to provide techniques for clients who have a history of substance abuse and violent behavior.
