NASSAU ALLIANCE FOR ADDICTION SERVICES (NAFAS)
The purpose of the Alliance is to unite chemical dependency providers in Nassau County to better respond to the needs of clients affected by chemical dependency and their families. It was formed to allow community-based agencies funded by the Nassau County Department
of Mental Health,Chemical Dependency and Developmental Disabilities a forum for networking, sharing ideas, problem-solving, and advocating. However, the goal is always to improve the quality of service delivery to Nassau County residents and to reduce the stigma for the chemically addicted person in seeking treatment. Port Counseling Center's Executive Director is a past president of the Alliance.
